Carrying on what has become a fun holiday tradition in the Johnson family, Alane (Heindel) Johnson g89 and her daughter, Larissa, entered this beautiful rendition of the Spencerville Covered Bridge into the Festival of Gingerbread in December 2020. And they won first place in the “adult group division”!

Since graduating from FWBC with her degree in Elementary Education, Alane has spent most years teaching as an adjunct instructor at Ivy Tech and St. Francis University. Her focus has been instructing in reading and writing skills for college students. But, for the past two years, she has taught special education at the middle school level with Fort Wayne Community Schools at Memorial Park Middle School.

Years ago, when their children were young, Alane and Nick Johnson g91 visited the Festival of Gingerbread with them. The very next year, the family decided to try an entry and pursued this for years to come, to the point that it became a family tradition!
